Thank you for coming out to support the Boys' Basketball team as they took on WiHi this week. It was a sold-out game. Despite being crowded and warm, I appreciate that the students, parents, and the community created a positive atmosphere during the game. Just another example of the Clipper Nation coming together for a positive experience.

This week students currently enrolled in Algebra 1, English 10, who were absent last week and missed a testing session, will complete make-up Maryland Comprehensive Assessments this week. Some students will also be taking the Biology and Government assessments. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the assistant principal, Ms. Dunn (

Keeping our students and staff safe is our top priority at Wicomico County Public Schools. We continuously strive to provide innovative tools and training to keep our school buildings as safe as possible. So you are aware: The installation of Emergency Response Shields in our school hallways has recently been completed. An Emergency Response Shield is portable protective armor that hangs on the wall to be available if needed, much like a fire extinguisher. We thank Hardwire LLC of Pocomoke City for securing a federal grant so that all Lower Shore public schools, including ours, could receive and install Emergency Response Shields throughout their school at no cost to the school or school system. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the school office.

Thank you to the parents who joined me this week for the Parent Advisory session. These advisory sessions happen each quarter, and parents share with me concerns, ask questions and celebrate the good. Please let me know if you are interested in serving on the Parent Advisory in the future.

I want to start a community advisor allowing JMB to collaborate with local community groups and businesses. If you lead a local group or are a business leader and would be interested in meeting with me, please let me know.

Just a reminder that schools are closed tomorrow to honor and remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

How to Stay in the Know?

The best way to stay in the know is to make sure we have accurate information on file. Please look over all the information on the Student Personal Data and Enrollment Information Form as this is the information we currently have on file for you. Make any corrections to the form in blue. If you need additional space for emergency contact use a separate sheet of paper. Sign the back of the form and return it to the school. If you prefer to fill out a new form you can find a copy on our website.
