Principal's Message
Dear Oak Hills Families,
Thank you so much for caring for our school. Last Friday night, our school was vandalized. Graffiti was on our play structure and on the walls students use during recess. Lark Asbury, our PTO co-president, informed me of this on Saturday morning around 10 AM. I then called my supervisor, Nicole Will, who related the message to our Deputy Superintendent, Carl Mead. Within the hour, our district paint crew came to paint over the graffiti. The police had already been called by one of our community members and had the evidence they needed. I am so grateful that we have you watching out for our school! Please know all our PTO board members have my personal cell phone number. Feel free to call them so they can relate the message to me. You can also email me. Additionally, Washington County police have my number and do contact me if there are any issues with the school. Again, thank you for informing us and thank you for being stewards of our building.
I would also like to ask your continued support of our crossing guards and students using the crosswalk. We have noticed some parents who park across the street from the school on Perimeter, dodge between cars to cross the street instead of coming to the crosswalk to cross safely. We also have drivers stopping ON the crosswalk waiting for traffic. Our crossing guards cannot cross students if there's a car in the crosswalk. Finally, we have drivers dropping their students off and doing 3-point turns or U-turns mid-block or in the intersection. Thank you for thinking about the safety of our students and staff first.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards,
Sheila Baumgardner

Exclusion Day - February 15, 2017
State law requires all children in public and private schools, preschools, Head Start and certified child care facilities have up-to-date immunizations, or have a medical exemption. Parents wanting to claim a non-medical exemption to a vaccine need to either complete the vaccine online training or receive the training from their physician and provide proof of this training. More information regarding non-medical exemption can be found at http://www.healthoregon.org/vaccineexemption. Parents or guardians have receive a letter in early February if their child’s immunization record shows he or she has not received the required vaccinations. Children will not be able to attend school or childcare starting February 15, 2017, if their records on file show missing immunizations.
