The March: Bearing Witness to Hope
Kristallnacht Commemoration and Discussion
Presentation by the 2018 March: Bearing Witness to Hope Participants
The March 2018 Team would like to invite the campus community to hear about the experiences from our recent trip. The March: Bearing Witness to Hope is a ten-day student leadership program included Holocaust scholars, survivors, and Israeli and Polish guides. Participants traveled to cities that were once vibrant Jewish communities, to concentration and death camps engineered by the Third Reich, and to historic locations commemorating acts of resistance and rescue in the face of the "Final Solution."
Kristallnacht or the "night of the broken glass" was one of the most influential nights in the history of the Holocaust, and would change the life course of countless people. The presentation will include members of the 2018 March team. They will be engaging in discussions around how studying such important historical events has informed and influenced campus life, professional life and development, religious identity, and much more. This event promises to be a
poignant and informative night of bearing witness to history and taking responsibility for our future.
We hope you will join us in exploring ways to foster tolerance in the face of prejudice and discrimination, to nurture peace when confronted by violence and war, and to cultivate compassion when besieged by bigotry and hatred. Thank you to the campus community for your on-going support of this unique program.
Sincerely,
The 2018 March: Bearing Witness to Hope Nazareth Team
