Halloween is approaching and as always, we will allow students to rock their Halloween costumes on Friday, October 29. Below are some guidelines we must follow to ensure student safety:

  • Students are PROHIBITED from wearing costume masks that cover their entire face.
  • Make-up or face paint should be minimal. Staff needs to still be able to EASILY identify a student wearing make-up or face paint.
  • Weapons, or replica weapons are PROHIBITED.
  • Costumes need to adhere to the school dress code. (NO costume should be ethnically or culturally offensive, gang-related in any manner or form, sexually explicit or offensive, in poor taste, illegal or drug, alcohol or tobacco-related)

If you have any questions regarding your costume, please see your GLC before Halloween for guidance and approval.

Thank you for your cooperation Mustangs! We look forward to a fun and safe Halloween on campus!

THANK YOU to our students and staff for participating in the Great ShakeOut earthquake drill.

Your support during this and every drill, as well as real emergencies, is crucial to the safety of our staff and students. In the event of a real emergency it will be all hands on deck. We will support each other and our students. Flexibility and communication are vital. Our goal is to keep everyone safe. Our hard work to prepare and practice emergency procedures will help us meet our goal.

Fun fact from yesteerday's drill: 2100 students were evacuated and accounted for in 22 minutes.

Please take the time to talk with your students about their emergency plans outside of school hours.

Thank you again for your support.

Italian American Heritage Month

Each October, millions of Americans of Italian descent come together to celebrate Italian American Heritage Month and reflect on their families’ histories, traditions, and values. This special heritage month was first celebrated in 1989 when it was proclaimed by President George H.W. Bush and the United States Congress to honor the achievements and contributions of Italian immigrants and their descendants living in the U.S. This year, representatives from the Class of 2022, made a video commemorating this very special event by highlighting the many contributions Italian Americans have made.
