Families of Blue Valley West High School students
The Blue Valley School District is excited to partner with Panorama to collect perceptual survey data on students’ social-emotional learning skills. The survey will be administered in October and March and provides helpful information for classroom teachers and other school personnel to help meet the needs of each student.
The survey includes questions related to the following topics:
School safety — perceptions of students’ physical and psychological safety while at school
Self-management — students’ ability to manage emotions, thoughts, and behaviors
Social awareness — students’ ability to consider the perspectives of others and empathize with them
Self-efficacy — students’ belief that they can succeed in achieving academic outcomes
Grit — students’ ability to persevere through setbacks toward achieving goals
Emotional regulation — how well students regulate their emotions
Sense of belonging — how much students feel they are valued members of the school community
Please log into ParentVue to either opt your student into participating or opt your student out of participating. Participation is entirely voluntary. Upon logging into ParentVue, a screen will pop-up, and families will have the opportunity to record their decision.
Implementation reflects a Kansas State Department of Education requirement for school districts to collect social-emotional learning data.
You can learn more about the survey at https://www.panoramaed.com.

Sinchróma
We are excited to announce that Blue Valley West has a new club this year called Sinchróma. Sinchróma is aimed at achieving healthy interactions between all students regardless of race; it is a platform that encourages racial diversity/unity and is a place where students can openly speak about racism and race-related discussions. We hope it provides students with an opportunity to teach each other about racial diversity while also getting to learn about how to continue respecting and appreciating each other regardless of skin color. Here is an interest form for anyone who may want to join the club this year.
Rho Kappa - Social Studies National Honor Society
Is an organization that recognizes excellence in the field of social studies, for junior and seniors only. We meet once a month to further our collective understanding in the field of social studies by listening to speakers, playing games like jeopardy or Kahoot, the occasional meme contest and much, much more. If you are looking to receive a cord at graduation and have fun in the process, join Rho Kappa by applying here!
