Knowledge
Frankenstein Final Assessment by Evan Cherepko
"I had gazed on him while unfinished; he was ugly then, but when those muscles and jointswere rendered capable of motion, it became a thing such as even Dante could not have conceived" (Shelley 43)
In my opinion knowledge is another word for understanding. Knowledge means that you know the possible outcomes of an event or the tendencies of events.
Victor's Madness
Victor had a dream which was to reanimate a corpse from dead parts of other humans. Victor knew what he had to do, he had the knowledge to complete the task. He just didn't have the knowledge to know how his finalized creation would turn out which is important because he didn't have the knowledge to foresee the possible outcome.
"I cannot describe to you the agony that these reflections inflicted upon me; I tried to dispel them, but sorrow only increased with knowledge" (Shelley 101)
This quote said by the Creature shows how knowledge can be dangerous. The Creature did not know how he looked so his first impression was very bad when he saw his reflection.
Here In My Garage (Official): Lamborghini, Knowledge, And Books With Tai Lopez
"None but those who have experienced them can conceive the enticements of science." (Shelley 47)
This quote from Victor expresses how he felt about his dream before everything went wrong.
"If I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear." (Shelley 125)
The Creature is trying to get Victor to realize that he does not have to make this so difficult.
“It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it was the outward substance of things or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that occupied me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in its highest sense, the physical secrets of the world.” (Shelley 23)
This quote from Victor shows his pursuit for knowledge and expanding his mind with interesting possibilities of life after death.
“Of what a strange nature is knowledge! It clings to a mind when it has once seized on it like a lichen on a rock." (Shelley
This quote from the Creature shows how the idea of knowledge can be very enticing. The Creature is fascinated and wants to know about everything because it is all new to him.
