CB South High School
Updates From CB South
CB South will be hosting the PSAT this year on Saturday, October 15th. This is a practice test for the SAT and we encourage sophomores and juniors to consider taking the test. The results of the test are not part of a student’s transcript and are not shared with colleges so it is a great opportunity to receive feedback on strengths and weaknesses for standardized testing. If you have questions concerning who should take the PSAT, do not hesitate to contact your student’s counselor.
Registration begins September 12th and ends October 7th. All registration is completed through My Payments Plus which can be accessed at MyPaymentsPlus or the CBSD app on your smart phone. The cost is $20 per student. After a student registers, he/she will receive a practice booklet in Titan Forum. Room assignments will be posted the week before the test.
Students are asked to arrive on test day no later than 7:45 and attendance will be taken by 8AM. Students should bring several sharpened pencils and a calculator. The new PSAT is a bit longer than in the past. The actual test is 2 hours and 45 minutes. It will take approximately 30 minutes for the students to complete the demographic information on the bubble sheet and there is also a break. We are estimating that the students will be finish by 11:30 but it could be a little longer. Each room is dismissed separately when the test is completed.
Now is the time to reach back into the family archives to find adorable baby pictures of our current seniors. We would to feature those cute photos in the Titan Tots section of our 2017 yearbook! Details about submission and previous examples may be found on the CB South Yearbook website . Please send a high quality scan, digital file or photo with a 45-word (maximum) message to the yearbook. The cost is $45.00 and can be paid by cash or check made payable to CB South Student Activities Fund. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or questions. The deadline is Tuesday, November 1, 2016!!

Inspiring Teens Magazine
Inspiring Teens Magazine is a local magazine run by teens and submitted by other teens and people who inspire them. The magazine began last year as a place for teens to read about other local teens who are doing inspiriting things in our communities. There is something for everyone in the magazine, from sports to travel to entrepreneurs to history or community service. Inspiring Teens Magazine is a magazine just for teens to celebrate who they are and what they are doing in their communities.
