Camillus Optimists Recognize the West Genesee CSD Community
In the midst of the global pandemic, the entire West Genesee community has rallied to support one another. Regardless of their role, everyone has stepped up to provide instruction, support, food, and general care to our students, staff, and families.
It is very difficult to single out a small number of people for excellence awards when everyone has been working so hard and collectively risen to meet the challenges of the past year.
As such, the Camillus Optimists have awarded the 2020 David Kenna Outstanding Student Award to "The Entire Student Body of WGCSD during the Global Pandemic", and the 2020 Camillus Optimist Joseph Witowski Outstanding Teacher Award to "The Entire Staff and Faculty of WGCSD during the Global Pandemic".
A plaque reflecting the winners will be displayed in all of the West Genesee school buildings. In addition to the awards, the Camillus Optimists have generously donated gift cards to be given to West Genesee families in need.
Fall Athletes are Scholars
To receive a Scholar-Athlete Team award, 75% of the roster must have a GPA of 90 or above. Five teams qualified: Boys Golf, Boys Soccer, Girls Cross Country, Girls Soccer, and Girls Tennis.
Individuals who earn a GPA of 90 or above are still eligible to receive individual Scholar-Athlete honors. West Genesee had 78 out of 98 eligible athletes awarded the Scholar Athlete Pin. Congratulations!
