The 2019-2020 school year instructional calendar was approved by the Board this month. This calendar includes a pre-Labor Day start with the first day of school set on August 28, 2019.

The Meeting in Review

Unified Sports

Dr. Paul Spiewak, Assistant Principal for Athletics and Activities at Methacton High School, presented the Unified Sports program available through Special Olympics Pennsylvania. The Board of School Directors approved Methacton High School to begin providing the program starting with Track and Field in the Spring of 2019. To learn more about Unified Sports visit the Special Olympics Pa. You can find Dr. Spiewak's presentation here.

Video Surveillance System Recommendation

Dr. Troy Sosnovik, Director of Technology, Safety and Child Accounting, presented to the Board of School Directors a request to engage Access Security Corporation of Warminster, Pa., and ePlus Technology, Inc., of Pottstown, Pa to procure and install Exacqvision Video Management Solution video surveillance system in each of the Methacton school buildings. This approval marked an important step forward to improving the security of all school campuses. The installation is planned to be complete by end of June 2019. Most notable, this system and its related features allow us to connect with local and State law enforcement to best provide a safe environment for our students.

All other items listed on the February 26, 2019 agenda were approved.
