HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023
January 10, 2023 - Vol.2 Issue 19
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
After all the holidays of the past few weeks, we are grateful for a full week of instruction! Next week, we will be off on Monday, January 16 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Since the MLK holiday is recognized as a National Day of Service, please see this newsletter for an opportunity for you and your child to participate in an act of service here at our school. Mrs. Jennifer Nguyen will be coordinating an hour or two of cleanup around the school on Monday. If your child needs to complete service hours, this might be a great opportunity to do so! More information is in this newsletter and on the Holy Hawks Facebook page.
This Friday, January 13, our Student Council is sponsoring a $1 Dress Down day. Students wishing to participate should wear their favorite Holy Family Spiritwear! There are lots of Spiritwear options still available for purchase. Please see this newsletter for more information on ordering Holy Family Spiritwear.
January 29 begins Catholic Schools Week! This year’s Catholic Schools Week theme is: Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service. To begin Catholic Schools Week, we celebrate Mass with our parish communities; 9:00 AM at St. Frances Cabrini, and 9:30 AM at Queen of the Universe. Students should come to Mass in their winter uniform and proudly share their Holy Family spirit with fellow parishioners! Our pastors and parishes generously support our school, and it is important for our families to worship together at their parish to praise and thank God for all his blessings, especially the gift of a Catholic education! Our annual Catholic Schools Week Open House will be held that morning between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Current and prospective families as well as parishioners are welcome to come and see our Parish School! More information about our Catholic Schools Week celebration is forthcoming, so stay tuned!
Yesterday, I sent an email sharing information about our Board of Limited Jurisdiction’s Super Bowl Football Pool fundraiser. Please consider supporting this fundraiser by playing a block or two yourself and/or sharing the link with those football fans you know who love to play Super Bowl pools. We are looking for this to be very successful for our school! Thank you in advance for your attention and participation.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

Remember to go to Mass this weekend.

Catholic Schools’ Week Service Project
Women’s Animal Center
Location: 3839 Richlieu Rd, Bensalem
About The Women’s Animal Center
The Women’s Animal Center was once called The Women’s Humane Society. This is a “no-kill” animal shelter that accepts all animals found or surrendered, regardless of age, breed, size or health. They are committed to placing all healthy or medically and behaviorally treatable animals into new homes by implementing proven methods of lifesaving and rehabilitation. The Women’s Animal Center ultimately provides shelter, veterinary care, behavior training, rescue transfer and adoption services for over 3,000 animals in need each year.
The Women’s Animal Center serves approximately 10,000 patients annually in their low-cost Veterinary Hospital, with a focus on making pet ownership affordable and helping to reduce owner surrenders related to financial burden. All of the service fees raised through the Veterinary Hospital are directly reinvested into the shelter and rehoming of the stray, abandoned and abused animals in our care.
The Center also works with schools and scout programs to build a more compassionate future for animals. They receive no federal, state or local government funding, and depend upon the support, partnership and patronage of local and national communities to accomplish their animal welfare mission.
