THE NEW STATE REPORT CARD IS OUT
Our areas that we will continue to work diligently to improve this year include K-3 Literacy and Achievement. We are going to dig deeper into the data in these areas and develop plans to improve in those areas during this school year. Although those grades are not up to the standards we expect of ourselves, I am happy to report that we have shown improvement over last year's report card in both those areas. In Achievement our Performance Index improved by 3 percentage points and in K-3 Literacy we improved by a Letter Grade up from a Grade of a D in 2015-16.

R FACTOR DISCIPLINE #1: PRESS PAUSE
SEPTEMBER FOCUS: #1 Press Pause
- Think before acting.
- Learn the skill of self reflection.
- Be present in the moment.
This month we are focusing on pressing pause. This means once an event takes place, we need to stop and think about how we are going to respond. It is not uncommon for an adult to say to a young child on the verge of a tantrum to stop, take a deep breath, and think before they act. As we grow older, we often forget to do this. No matter what the situation we are dealing with, we all need to stop and think and take that deep breath before we respond.
