Air Pods - No Longer Allowed At School Starting October 1st

We have had a big problem with Air Pods in our school. I have found several students with Air Pods in throughout the day - times when they definitely should NOT have had them in. I have even seen students wearing Air Pods while participating in Safety Patrol, which creates a huge safety hazard.

Much research has been done on the prolonged use of headphones in young children, and studies have found that this prolonged use of loud noise causes significant hearing loss in children. Not only that, but students who are constantly listening to music are not listening to classroom instruction. They are distracted and uninformed, taking time away from classroom instruction for discipline.

As of October 1, students will not be allowed to bring Air Pods to school. Students are allowed to bring the basic earbuds that are required for some classroom instruction and were listed in the School Supply List provided to you in the summer.

Air Pods discovered at school will be confiscated and kept in the office until a parent can pick them up.

1. Sell Raffle tickets. The school who sells the most raffle tickets will be treated to a pep rally by the Kansas City Chiefs! The Chiefs will actually come to our school to host this fun event! Be watching your child's backpack for the raffle tickets to come home. This is the easiest way to raise money for FIRE while doing a little something for our school as well!

There are many ways you can give back to this wonderful foundation who not only works to ensure ALL children are included in Catholic schools across the country, but ensures that St. Patrick School can provided the best education possible for ALL students.

St. Patrick School

The mission of St. Patrick School is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Encouragement is given to students to bring their lives into conformity with God's will and plan, so that He is glorified.
