Athens is a walled city near by the ocean, other boats sail to Athens`s port for trading. The walls are an advantage because you are more safe from the invaders. Athens government was a Democracy, people can vote to get what ever issue they are having.
Agora
Agora is a marketplace where people in Athens go to. The people bought goods and sold their goods at Agora. Agora received and traded many goods from all over the world. People bought many goods they needed and wanted at Agora.
Democracy in Athens
Athens had assemblies to discuss and debate about the issues or problems they are having. The Council of 500 suggested new laws. Every citizen had the right to speak in the assemblies. Many people enjoyed debating and talking about the problems. Some Greeks didn't like Democracy because a strong speaker can persuade people to vote for something unwise.
Athens`s Economy
Athens`s Economy is basically trading. People in Athens got what ever they need by selling and buying goods from Agora.
Women and Slaves
Women and slaves couldn't be citizens. Women didn't have many rights, they couldn't vote, own land, and most couldn't choose the man they wanted to marry.Women weren't educated, women handled the household chores and tasks. Slaves worked as a artisan, farmer, factory worker, clerk, or they helped in the houses.Women and slaves can`t attend the assemblies because they aren't citizens.
