ISIS

What is ISIS?
ISIS stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria because the group's territory straddles the border between the two counties. ISIS is an Islamic extremist group that believes that if you do not believe in Islam and you are unwilling to convert to Islam then you must die. They often behead and kill people who will not convert and post video of it online to try to intimidate others. They are currently trying to expand their borders and are recruiting people from all around the world including within the U.S.
Facts about ISIS
1. ISIS was originally founded by a protege of Osama Bin Laden.
2. The current leader of ISIS is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
3. They are currently recruiting people from the U.S., Europe, and many other countries using social media and other sources of media such as magazines.
4. ISIS has killed over 10,000 innocent people because they don't believe in Islam.
5. ISIS is one of the best funded terrorist groups, bringing in anywhere from one to four million dollars per day from various criminal activities such as kidnapping for ransom, bank robberies, and mainly through oil smuggling.
How does ISIS affect us today?
ISIS threatens the security of America and other countries everyday. They are growing larger in number everyday and as they get larger they continue to increase their revenue.
