"GOING BUGGY"
The 3rd and 4th Graders at Meadowlark did such a wonderful job at their Music Concert, "Going Buggy" on Tuesday, October 19th. They were festivally dressed in their Bug costumes such as Army Ants, Bumble Bees, and the SWAT team just to name a few. They sang out beautifully and performed their speaking parts with great poise and personality. Thank you to all our volunteers who helped with the show. It truly takes teamwork to be successful!!
If you would like a digital copy of the program, please email Rhona Harvey: harveyr@usd385.org

ANDOVER CARING AND SHARING
Opportunities for Giving and Receiving
Andover Caring and Sharing is a non profit organization that started over 20 years ago. Volunteers from local organizations assist families in our community who are in need during the holidays. Age appropriate gifts or gift cards and warm clothing items are provided for children, teenagers, and senior adults, as well as food boxes for the family with ingredients for a holiday dinner, including a turkey.
School counselors are asked to provide names and phone numbers of families in need. This is where I need your help. If your family is currently in hardship or likely to go without food and gifts this holiday season, please complete the form at the bottom and return to me by Monday, October 25th. This information will be confidential. I will submit your name, address, and phone number. Then, someone from Andover Caring and Sharing will contact you to verify your desire to participate and make pickup or delivery arrangements.
Due to COVID, we will not have our Christmas Shop; this year, we will contact families in advance regarding their gift requests and shop for them. The shopping model actually worked well last year, we were able to shop specifically for families requested needs. The families will be invited to pick up their gift boxes between December 14 – 16 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The food boxes will be distributed at the Andover Fire Department on December 16. If transportation is not available, the Andover Fire and Police Department have volunteered to deliver.
We also encourage donations of food, gifts, gift cards, money, books, games, hand lotion, toiletries, etc. Volunteers are needed to help with food collection, gift sorting, gift wrapping, shopping, etc. Please let me know of any groups in your school that can help. It is also possible for a class or organization to adopt an entire family.
If you are interested in donating items or volunteering, please contact Michele Carlini at michele@svdpks.org or 316-733-1423.
Sincerely, Mrs. Brooke Holcomb, Meadowlark Elementary School Counselor
