Character Counts!
Fairness “I try to give everyone the same rights and chances that I have.”
Elementary students that play by the rules set forth by their home, school, community, and society exhibit fairness. They take turns, share, are open-minded, and listen to others. They don’t take advantage of others and don’t blame others.
IB LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE
Open-minded “Everyone I meet knows something new I can learn.”
MYP students that are understanding and appreciative of their own cultures and personal histories exhibit being open-minded. Because of this, they are open to the perspectives, values, traditions, and identities of other individuals and communities. They are accustomed to seeking and evaluating a range of points of view and are willing to grow from their experiences.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday honors the civil rights leader’s contributions to racial justice and ending violent discrimination against Black people during the 1950s and 1960s.
He is well known for his founding of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957 and his 1963 March on Washington, cementing his role as one of the most outspoken and famous desegregationist leaders of the Civil Rights era.
Dr. King Jr.'s “I Have a Dream” speech delivered on August 28th, 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, in which he called for an end to racism, is widely considered one of the greatest speeches in American history.
In observance of Dr. Martin Lutehr King Jr. Day, there is no school for students and our offices will be closed. Classes resume for students and our offices will be open on Tuesday, January 17th.
Happy Birthday, Benjamin Franklin!
On Tuesday January 17th, 2023, we will celebrate the birthday of Benjamin Franklin, who answered the question “What Good May I Do In It?” – Poor Richard’s Almanack, 1737, time and again as a writer, printer, inventor, American diplomat, and godfather to a free and independent nation. He was called “The First American” and was in many ways the very idea of what an American could and should be during the Founding Era of our nation.
Happy Birthday, Benjamin Franklin!
