MATH
Course 2 students (2nd, 4th, 10th periods) will continue learning about ratios and proportional relationships. Our focus this week will be complex fractions and unit rates, as well as converting unit rates.
REVEAL math students (3rd & 8th periods) will be working with proportional relationships as well. The focus for these two classes will be on understanding proportional relationships as well as representing them with tables.
SOCIAL STUDIES
This week in Social Studies we will be finishing our chapter on the First Americans. We will continue learning about Cultural Regions on Monday, and take a quiz on Tuesday. The rest of the week we will be beginning our next chapter on European Exploration. The first explorers we will be learning about are Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus.
SCIENCE
This week students were able to dive into our first topic which is characteristics of life. How do we really know something is living? Ask your child about viruses...are they considered living organisms? We will have our first summative on this topic Wednesday, September 16. We have also spent time this week practicing using breakout rooms which enable students to still have small group discussions while learning from home.
