JOB DESCRIPTION
MS 8th Grade Math/Elective Teacher
DEPARTMENT: MS
UNION EXEMPT: No
REPORTS TO: Middle School Principal
WORK DAYS: Full time, school year
DUTIES:
1. Provides for High Quality instruction in a robust, accelerated mathematics curriculum.
2. Provide enriching instruction in elective courses designed to allow students to explore their skills and broaden their passions.
3. Provide for engaging and meaningful instruction of Mathematics for Middle-Level Students.
4. Support Math PLC as an active member.
5. Develop and teach Enrichment POI cycle classes as mini electives or interventions for a variety of students.
6. Maintain accurate student files
7. Appropriate Certification for instruction of students in 6-8 grades.
8. Complete required records in a timely manner.
9. Support the grade level team efforts for Homeroom and student success.
10. Support and develop partnerships with parents for excellence and achievement.
11. Collaborate with grade level teachers to coordinate coherence of instructional program.
12. Participate in relevant trainings that are offered
13. Tutor students individually and in small groups
14. Maintain confidentiality at all times
15. Demonstrate professional behaviors in action and appearance at all times
16. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
17. Other duties as assigned

3. Experience in Data-Driven Instructional Decision Making.
4. Experience in Differentiated Instruction by readiness to impact all learners.
5. Experience in implementation of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
6. Experience in the use of Content Area Reading and Writing Strategies as aligned to the Math Classroom.
7. Experience in building effective relationships with students in and out of the classroom.
8. Demonstrated Communication Skills in Oral and Written Language.
9. Experience with the Marzano Teaching Framework.
EDUCATION:
Must have valid Washington State certification with appropriate endorsements to meet the need of the position.
MANDATORY CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.
Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance.
Completion of Federal I-9, Employment Verification Eligibility form.
