Meet iCub
iCub is the humanoid robot developed at the ITT as part of the EU project RobotCub and has been adopted by more than 20 laboratories worldwide! iCub is designed to facilitate natural interaction with people and the environment.
Available for € 250.000 (full body)

iCub houses a total of 76 joints (large and small, such as shoulders and fingers) powered by 54 motors.
Open Source
Both the software and hardware (schematics) are open source and freely available online.
Simulator
iCub runs on Linux and uses YARP for communication and controlling the robot. A simulator is available to test behaviours.

iCub started as a project to facilitate research in embodied cognition. As part of theRobotCub project iCub was funded under the EU 6th Framework Programme.
