Ms. Ingle's Messages
week of September 28th
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Thank you so much for taking time to attend conference day last Friday! I am so pleased with our 5th graders who showed up to lead their own conferences! 5th graders are learning that they are in charge of their own learning and that they must be proactive in order to make growth and meet their goals this school year.
I know that many of you were unable to attend conference day last week. I have a new schedule coming out this week with available time slots. Most of the times will be after the regular school day is over and will be worked around my on professional development schedule. Please plan on bringing your child so that he or she might impress you with their conference-leading skills!
Science Focus
This week we will dive deeper into our study of how earth's forces cause changes in our local and global weather. Specifically, we will take a closer look at the layers of the atmosphere and how air pressure, temperature and differences within each layer affect weather on the surface of our planet. The diagram to the left shows the layers we will be covering in class this week.
Current Math Focus
We have been working hard to ready ourselves for more advanced work with decimals. The following video is good review of what we have covered during the last week. We will continue our advanced study of place value this week.
Please check here for more info each week about our math topics.
