Why Your Word Choices Matter?
Great schools speak a different language. At this school, language and words matter. What we say and how we say it matters. I believe no one enters an opportunity intending to make a mistake. For example, no wide receiver in football drops the football because he wants too. In the same manner, there is not one teacher at Roberts who wants to see their name on the bottom of a report detailing how their students performed. I believe in my heart that there is not one teacher who wants to see a student fail. I also believe that there is not one teacher who wants to be viewed as “negative” by their peers. This is why my team and I are hyper focused in how we communicate everyday. We will always coach a growth mindset here at Roberts. As teachers, "WE" are responsible for the lives of our students when they are with us each and every day. How is your language? Do you speak a language that inspires, challenges, provokes, and breathes life into others?
You see Roberts, our language matters, and how we deliver it matters. This school will always speak its mission and will celebrate students and teachers. This school will never compromise its core values. We will always be united and stay focused on what matters most.

Roberts family,
The goal of a consequence is to help a student develop internal understanding, self-control, a desire to follow the rules and ultimately to change an undesired behavior.
Here at Roberts, students have 2 realms of consequences: teacher consequences and school wide consequences.
In your classroom you have the autonomy to give the consequence of a teacher detention to students who do not follow your classroom expectations. As a campus, students are given lunch detention for failure to follow school wide rules.
However, just as each student is unique, consequences do not effect each student the same way. Here at Roberts, if a teacher has given a teacher detention and contacted a parent and the behavior is not changing, the behavior is now persistent and needs a different consequence. At this time, an office referral would be written and documentation of parent contact and detentions listed.
We are a TEAM when it comes to all aspects of educating our students, both academically and emotionally. The administrative team is here to help in any way we can by assisting in calling home, visiting classes, conferencing with students, and helping adjust and refine classroom management. Our door is always open! We are a united Roberts family and family ALWAYS supports one another!
