Hyperbole
By: Jackie Denenholtz
Definition
An exaggerated statement that is not meant to be taken literally.
examples
"She is so dumb, she thinks Taco Bell is a Mexican phone company."
This is an exaggeration because the girl is obviously not that dumb, the person is stretching the truth more than it has to be.
"It was so cold, I saw polar bears wearing jackets."
This statement is a hyperbole, it isn't that cold, the person is being overly dramatic.
