Teton Science School grades 6-8
For the past few summers a group of MCMS students have traveled to Jackson, Wyoming to study at the Teton Science School.
Students compete in the Lancaster County Challenge and the top two finishers go onto compete at Penn State University for a spot in the national competition.
Students spend the day rotating through five different stations at Lancaster County Central Park. Each team consists of five students that answer questions about birds, mammals, trees and plants, and backyard conservation.
Middle School Envirothon grades 7-8
Students rotate through different stations in teams of five to test their knowledge of wildlife, soils, aquatics, forestry, and a new focus topic each year.
IU 13 STEM Student Competition
Students work in teams of 3-5 students to complete an open-ended challenge that involves creating a STEM Solution to a new challenge each year.
STEM Sisters sponsored by the North Museum girls in grades 6-12
"Through engaging programs and activities, the STEM Sisters program offers young girls an opportunity to meet undergraduate and professional women in STEM fields and discover new potential career paths."
