Honoring Mr. Guy Clayton and the LTISD Board of Trustees

Although our Lake Travis Independent School District Board of Trustees works diligently throughout the year to ensure that we have all of the tools that we need in order to learn together and lead together, the month of January has been set aside to recognize their efforts on our behalf. We, therefore, want to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Trustees.

We would also like to highlight one of the members of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Guy Clayton. Mr. Clayton is a graduate of Lake Travis High School and Texas Tech University, where he majored in Finance and Real Estate. His professional experience is in the field of mortgage banking and financial management. Mr. Clayton was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2009.

Thank you, Mr. Clayton, and all of the members of the Board of Trustees of the Lake Travis Independent School District. We appreciate you and all that you do to make the Lake Travis Independent School District THE best place to be.

Important Notice From our Music Teacher, Mrs. Hill, to 2nd Grade Students & Their Parents!

As you may have heard from your students, 2nd grade is preparing for their musical performance of the year! The entire 2nd grade will be involved in this production, and we have been working on the music during our music class time. Our program, which is entitled “Hats!” is all about different hats, what they mean, and who wears them! All of the hats on stage will help a friend who doesn’t have one, and along the way they’ll find that the most important thing is not about the hat you wear, but the person who is wearing it. I'm very excited, as I'm sure your students are, to present this fun musical to you!

Every student will be a part of the chorus of characters, where we will all be singing various songs that introduce the story of our hat-wearing friends. In addition to that, some students will be selected to have speaking parts as hat-wearers! These students will be selected based upon their participation in class.

Our performance is on Thursday, February 7 at 9:00AM in the Tiger’s Den at WCHE. Family and friends of student performers are welcome to come and enjoy the show! PLEASE make sure your child will be at school on this day, wearing his/her favorite hat, so we can have the best performance possible! And, please RSVP to avoid the long security check-in lines.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact me. I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns! There will also be music online on my Schoology page for your students to practice at home!

Thank you so much for your participation, I cannot wait to see our finished production!

The Wall of Fame for Shoe Tying for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Graders

If your Kinder, 1st Grader, and/or Second Grader can tie his/her shoes, please notify Coaches Mirizzi & Mayes because they want to honor this accomplishment in the school gym on our WALL OF FAME FOR SHOE TYING!

Once notified of the student's successful shoe-tying accomplishment, we will provide your student with a paper shoe to color, take the student's photo, and then post the photo and customized paper shoe on our WALL OF FAME FOR SHOE TYING!

It's going to be really exciting to see our young Tigers on the WALL OF FAME!

Our clinic needs new or gently used leggings, shorts, and pants

Accidents happen! And, sometimes students need warm, dry clothing to finish out their school day.

Nurse Hensel, as the keeper of the wardrobe, has reported a need for small, medium and large girls' leggings. She also needs, for boys and/or girls, small, medium, and large athletic shorts and pants.

We would appreciate your keeping Nurse Hensel's needs in mind if you have gently used clothing that your children no longer need. Many thanks!
