Meet Mrs. Goodson
Mrs. Goodson serve as our 6th and 7th Grade Counselor. She has had the privilege to work at Sandtown Middle School as School Counselor for eight years. Prior to becoming a, School Counselor, she was a high school Psychology Teacher for two years. Mrs. Goodson absolutely enjoy and love what she does as a School Counselor. It has always been her goal to help students academically, socially, and emotionally as well as to guide them on a successful path for their future. She is always grateful for the opportunity to serve our scholars and families daily. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science from Clayton State University, Master of Counseling from Cambridge College, and an Education Specialist in School Counseling from The University of West Alabama. She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She has a loving husband, two wonderful sons, and one amazing daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling.
Meet Mrs. Bataille
Mrs. Bataille is our 7th and 8th Grade Counselor. She was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. She received her Bachelor's degree from Fort Valley State University and a Masters in School Counseling from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Mrs. Bataille has been counseling at SMS since 2014-2015. Before coming to Sandtown she spent 4 years as a middle school counselor at Detroit Academy of Arts & Science, followed 9 years as a high school counselor in Gwinnett at Central Gwinnett High. She has a total of 20 years in education. Mrs. Bataille has always had a passion for helping others and guiding students to academic success and mentoring pre-adolescents and young adults to social and emotional balance. She has a loving husband, two amazing boys and a dog. Her hobbies and interests include working out, spending time with family & friends, and traveling.
