Section 504 COVID 19
Information and Resources
A Short Message...from Pamela
Since all of you are busy supporting learning at home for students, I put together some links so you will have some references. I know that you time is valuable and there are a couple links that you will want to "favorite" such as the Special Pops At-Home Learning Site as the webpage will be updated as information becomes available. Much of the information from federal and state guidance addresses special education and Section 504 is usually interwoven in the questions or answers.
There are pat answers as we individualize for each of our students. Our Lions Club motto is "We Serve" and... that is what we do. Remember students with disabilities who receive online instruction are entitled to receive FAPE under IDEA and Section 504. Make a good faith effort and document, document, document. We have seen awesome collaboration of people who are willing to share what they are doing. Communicate with parents (see resources below) so they can help in the process, communicate with students If possible, so they have some contact and assurances. Most of all, while you are taking care of the students, take care of yourself and your family. Breathe....
