A couple of good things from the MJS IMC
In class discussions: do the same students always seem to have something to share and others never open their mouths? do you want to know what the students who don't say anything are thinking...If they're making connections? is it sometimes difficult to keep track of participation? do you like a quiet room? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might want to try Today's Meet! Today's Meet is like a live Twitter chat. Here's how it works...simply go to Today's Meet, create a room and share the room URL address with your students. I've created a slide above to explain expectations to students. You or even a student can act as the chat moderator, keeping the chat going, offering prompts etc. The best part is that when you're done, you have a record of student participation. Plus, you will be totally psyched when the student who never says a word in class, all of a sudden has a lot to say! I'm always here to help out if interested!
An honest post from a favorite blogger..and educator!
