#sparkinfo. Weekly Update
Week 33- April 20th- 24th
I hope everyone had a wonderful break!
I hope everyone had a restful break and enjoyed their "Staycation"! As kids are in break routine, we will need to be intentional about drawing them back into the school routine as we begin week four of Pickens Middle Virtual School. Please continue to do well-checks and let us know about concerns regarding students well-being or connectivity.
We will continue to ask that you reach out to students who are not participating in your Webex sessions and/or completing mastery assignments in schoology. At the end of the week, we would like homeroom entries for no contact as a whole and concerns discovered through well-checks. Please divise a system as a grade level team for triaging this list before entering into the school list. It may be you may want to complete your own private google sheet for people to add no contact information and then allow homeroom teachers to enter overall concerns into the school sheet. Let us know if we can help with this.
As we move into week four, let us remember our priorities:
1) Students are safe at home. If you have any concerns as you do well-checks, please let us know. (We have identified at least one student who has major needs due to the tornado activity.)
2) Students have basic needs such as food met. I believe this is one of our district's primary missions at the moment. (I am personally feeding one family on the weekend. We may want to do a food pantry for weekend food.)
3) Provide consistency and routine for our students as you work through your daily class schedule
I am so grateful for each of you! Please take care of yourself and your family. If I can do anything for you, please don't hesitate to ask!
