Woodfield's Parent Newsletter
Summer 2020 - Woodfield Elementary
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
As we enter the summer months I want to thank you for your patience and flexibility this past school year. The 2019-2020 school year held many changes and challenges, beginning with the realignment of elementary boundaries lines with significant impact on Woodfield, our current 5th/6th graders are on their way to a NEWLY constructed Fox River Middle School, and lets not forget the World Health Crisis of Covid-19 that impacted how instruction was delivered.
As we begin to prepare for the 20-21 school year, we will continue to keep you updated on how the WGSD will stay within the CDC's and the State of Wisconsin's Health Department regulations for social distancing in schools. Our highest priority is the safety of our students and staff.
Have restful and relaxing summer!
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments over the summer.
WGSD Virtual Grading Parent Communication
With our continued online learning due to COVID-19 we would like to update our grading
expectations for the year. At the end of the school year, the grade marks of P* for Pass, I* for
Incomplete and E* for Excused will be used for reporting in Skyward. The gradebook will
temporarily close to students and parents on Thursday, May 21st to Wednesday, May 28th.
This will allow for any last changes within Skyward to occur. If you have any concerns or
questions about your child’s grade please feel free and reach out to your child’s teacher.
As a community, it has been truly impressive to see the responsiveness and resilience that our
students, staff and families have portrayed during these unprecedented times. Everyone is
balancing family, career and children’s needs. Very remarkable. Thank you!

Technology & School Book/Library Books Drop Off
We are planning materials return days the week of June 2-4 from 7am-6pm each day at Evergreen Elementary. Staff will be on hand to assist families, and the process will be handled in a curbside drop-off manner as the school buildings are officially closed until June 30th.
Click here for the communication that was sent to you regarding the technology who have WGSD materials.
Yearbook/Student Item Pick Up/Teacher Visit (Schedule Below)
We have set up 2 days for families to come through our car pick up line just like they did for student materials pick up. Yearbooks will be available (if purchased), the PTO provided commemorative t-shirts (5th/6th graders), you can drop off classroom borrowed materials, or to just swing by and say hello-from a distance. We have also invited our teachers* to be present during the following dates/times:
Red Wing (4K, 5K & 1st grade) Monday, June 8th 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Blue Wing (4th, 5th, 6th grade) Tuesday, June 9th 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
*We understand many families have children in multiple grade levels. You are more than welcome to stop more than once over the dates listed above. Teachers have been invited for the times above only to account for social distancing between our staff. Thank you for your understanding!
