Snow Day/AMI Day Update

We have listed the seven days we have missed so far, and their official classification:

January 27 - Snow Day (built into the calendar & does not need to be made up)

February 9 - Snow Day (built into the calendar & does not need to be made up)

February 10 - AMI Day #1 (does not need to be made up)

February 11 - AMI Day #2 (does not need to be made up)

February 12 - AMI Day #3 (does not need to be made up)

February 16 - AMI Day #4 (does not need to be made up)

February 17 - AMI Day #5 (does not need to be made up)

Subsequent Snow Days WILL need to be added to the calendar. They will not be classified as AMI days, so teachers will not post online lessons or assignments for students.

Overcoming Obstacles to Learning

This historic weather event has really tested our perseverance - we have received stories of power outages, burst water pipes, keeping animals alive in -10 degree temperatures, cars and farm machinery that won't start, and many more! Our teachers are dealing with internet connectivity issues and Tyler being down so grades cannot be entered in a timely fashion. We have notified our technology troubleshooters, and are trying to rectify the problem as quickly as possible. We resolve to show each other grace as we just continue to do what we can with what we have, where we are.

Summer School Dates Set

Summer School 2021 will be held from June 1st to June 30th, 2021.

Our Teacher of the Month - Mr. Mouser

Mr. Mouser is in his first year of teaching at PCHS, but he has many years of experience in the educational profession (he has worked at East Newton, MacDonald County, and Crowder College). Mr. Mouser volunteers for many additional duties and tasks because he enjoys serving our students. He has described himself as an "enthusiastic, non-traditional, engaging educator" and we couldn't agree more! We are fortunate to have Mr. Mouser at PCHS!
