What's New in the Library

April 2013

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break and enjoyed the sunshine, whether here or afar. It's hard to believe that term 3 is here already. There are a lot of exciting reading events coming up this month in the library - should be lots of fun!

Cougar Canyon Library is Online!

The CC Library now has a new and improved website that features links to research information, the library catalogue, book suggestions, teacher resources, and more.

Scholastic Book Fair Returns!

The Book Fair is coming back to Cougar and will be held during the week of April 15th - 18th. I will post details about the times and contests next week and the Book Fair flyers will be sent home with students next week, also. For the classes I don't see in the library, I will leave the flyers in your box in the office and I would appreciate it if you could hand them out to your students.

Anyone interested in volunteering? I'd love to have some extra hands!

Reading Day @ Cougar

The Reading Day Committee is busy planning a fun-filled day to celebrate reading. Reading Day will be on Thursday, April 18th, where we will start the day with a reading-filled assembly and then you will also have guest readers scheduled to come and share their love of reading with your students. This is an exciting day to help promote reading and foster a love of reading in our students.

If you would like to be a part of the staff Reader's Theatre skit, come to the first meeting next Tuesday (April 9th) at lunch in the library.

Stay tuned for a schedule and more details.

Coming Soon ...

Well, I had planned on sharing some new books and great websites this month, but April seems to be the month of Reading news, so I will save those topics for next month.

If you have time, please check out the new library website and let me know if there is anything you would like to see added to the site.

That's all for now. Keep Reading!!
