Attention Incoming Kindergarten Students

***This was sent out to incoming Kindergarten parents***

If you haven't registered yet, please do so ASAP. We currently only have 37 Kindergarten students registered.

Dear Parents of Incoming Kindergarten Students,

Welcome to Kindergarten at Prospect School!

You are invited to bring your child to Prospect on Monday, May 23rd, to meet some of the Prospect staff and kindergarten teachers. We will meet in the Library, Room 113, beginning at 1:00 p.m and ending at 1:30 p.m. Parents should begin to arrive at least 15 minutes early for security check-in (please bring your driver’s license). Students will visit a classroom while parents remain in the Library for a presentation on what to expect in kindergarten. The Prospect PTO will also be available to answer questions. Please complete the RSVP and let us know if you will be attending no later than Wednesday, May 18th.

The first day of kindergarten attendance will be Monday, August 22nd. On Thursday, August 18th, we ask that you visit your child’s classroom according to the schedule below. School supplies will be in the classroom if you order ahead of time, or you can bring your child’s supplies on this day.

AM CLASS (2:00-2:30 p.m.) PM CLASS (2:30-3:00 p.m.)

The Department of Learning sent an email on May 5th notifying you about the Kindergarten screener. It is important to sign up for a time early and to attend, as AM or PM placements will only be sent to parents in mid to late June for students who have completed the screening assessment. Directions for selecting a screening date and time can be found here. If you have difficulties in signing up, please contact Nick Skrip at nskrip@d181.org. Teacher assignments will be provided to families shortly before school starts in August.

Watch for additional kindergarten information to be mailed to you in

mid-August.

Sincerely,

Kristin Cummings
