Shout out to Lisa for all of her work organizing onboarding! This is such a huge endeavor, and she does it so well, even when she has to roll with a few unexpected challenges.
You rock, Lisa!

Kudos must go out to all of the Advisors! You charged right into onboarding and helped so many new families. You are important!

SSS Mission - Feedback requested
We had lots of idea for refining our SSS Dept mission statement. Below was where we left off:
The mission of the Student Support Services Department is to engage the student and family system by identifying and providing individualized support to empower growth.
Other key words discussed at PD:
engagement
whole-person
life long success
removing barriers
Feedback requested: If you have feedback, email Alex your suggested statement for inclusion in next week's roadmap, and final vote.

Follow up on compliance checklsit quiz
Most/all of you completed the compliance and housekeeping checklist sent out by Kelly Edginton in early August. After reviewing the quiz responses, I wanted to follow up on a couple of items.
- What browser should Parents, Students, and Staff use to log into the OLS and OMS/OHS?: Chrome
- Check all statements that are correct:
1. I may use student names in parent/guardian or Learning Coach/staff email communications 2. I may use the first initial last name format when referencing students in staff to staff emails

Important Reminder: TVS account changes
Fill out this survey (bookmark it for future use) for TVS phone, email, or in-state address changes.
Be sure to fill out the survey completely. To make the correct changes, Leigh Ann needs to know whose addresses and phone numbers need to be changed (e.g. which parent or both or is it the LC; whose phone # and is it the home or cell). She also needs to know the student first and last name along with their student ID# and if they have siblings.
WD status change after WD form submitted
Items for Roadmap
Many of you have talked about a way to share new, helpful practices with one another. The Roadmap is a great place to do that. Please, as you learn a cool new trick, send Alex the details and he'll put it in a future Roadmap.
Also, send Kudos, too!
Fun info
Bev's Chocolate Syrup recipe
2/3 c. cocoa powder
1 c. sugar
2/3 c. water
ΒΌ tsp. salt
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Stir until mixed well and warm. Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
I double the recipe and it makes about 1 quart.
K12 Updates
K12 updates will go here when/as needed
Family Success Champions
New on-time start students may be assigned a Family Success Champion.
Family Success Champions provide 12 weeks of dedicated to supporting new families via a mix of personalized calls and emails. Champions from the National team help their assigned families get started, remove barriers, and provide ongoing encouragement.
You can see the FSC in TVS under the course tab (see picture for example). You will also be able to see their notes in TVS. If a FSC gets asked a question they do not know the answer, they are told to escalate it to the student's Advisor, so you may be hearing from them.
Let Alex know if you have any questions, or if you get any issues escalated to you.
