Soccer
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. It is played by over 250 million players in over 200 countries making it the worlds most popular sport. Today, soccer is played at a professional level all around the world. Did you know that women's soccer is also one the most physical sports in the world? Around the 21st century women's soccer has grown a great amount in both popularity and participation. More then 1 million tickets were sold at the Women's World Cup in 1991. As you can see Women's Soccer has grown all across the globe and it is still growing to this day.
Basketball
Early December 1891, basketball was created because of a gym teacher who was trying to keep his class active on a rainy day. He wrote the rules out and nailed a peach basket onto a 10 foot elevated track. Since the bottom of the peach basket did not allow the ball to go through, he made an opening so that the ball could be retrieved through the basket. In 1949 basketball had become a major college sport and also a growth in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Basketball is still played to this day and is one of the most popular sports in the United States.
Tennis
The modern game of tennis originated in Birmingham, England, in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis". Tennis is played by millions of people across the globe, the four main Major tournaments are very popular: The Australian Open played on hard courts, The French Open played on red clay courts, Wimbledon played on grass courts, and the U.S Open also played on hard courts.
