Exotic Animals?
Should people be allowed to own exotic animals?
Allowed or not allowed?.....
Right now 30 states in america allow exotic animal ownership and only 12 of them require permit; but owning an exotic pet can be bad, and even deadly to both the human and the animal. I don't think that people without a permit should be allowed to own an exotic animal for the safety of both the animal and the human, also exotic animals deserve to be in the wild where they belong.
Bad for the animals?...
All animals need the proper amount of space, the right food, and a fit environment, but providing those things for an exotic animal can be quiet difficult. There have been a total of 200 exotic animal deaths under the care of human owners, that's why it should be required to have a permit so the the environment and other care details pass an inspection to see if its safe for them.
Wild and free?.....
Currently there are more Tigers under human care than there are in the wild. Exotic animals deserve to be free in their natural environment not kept as a pet.
Bad for the humans?....
Exotic animals can be hard and sometimes impossible to domesticate so in many instances their instinct is to attack prey and defend themselves when they feel in harms way. There have been a reported 75 human deaths due to their exotic animals attacking them. To prevent these deaths people need to get a permit to make sure they are taking the proper safety precautions.
To wrap it up.....
In conclusion I think that people should be allowed to own exotic animals but only with a permit or a licence. Requiring one to have a permit or licence to own an exotic animal would help save the animals and the humans from harm and also weed out the bad owners so there would be more exotic animals in the wild than in a bad environment provided by a owner who doesn't have the best intentions.
