5th Grade Parents
Indian Prairie School District 204 will host a parents’ orientation for our fifth grade Human Growth and Development presentation. For your convenience, we have scheduled two dates. Please feel free to attend any one of the sessions as follows:
Tuesday, November 30, 2021 Thursday, December 2, 2021
7:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m.
Brooks Elementary School White Eagle Elementary School
2700 Stonebridge Blvd 1585 White Eagle Dr
Aurora, IL 60502 Naperville, IL 60564
Students will learn about growth changes that are about to begin in their bodies with the onset of puberty. 5th grade Growth & Development presentations will be conducted at our school by a District 204 certified school nurse and select District 204 physical education teachers.
The purpose of the parents’ meeting is to inform you of the material your child will see and to answer any questions that you might have. This meeting is designed for adults. Guests must wear masks inside the school. If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact me. I hope you will be able to attend one of the sessions.
Viewing Parent Teacher Conference Schedule in Parent VUE
There have been some questions about parents' ability to see their conference room number and Zoom link in ParentVUE. Parents can find their conference schedule for their student on the Parent Scheduled Conferences tab in the Conference section of ParentVUE. The conference schedule will display in a blue box in the upper right corner of the screen.
There is also a link to Email Schedule. This will send a copy of the student’s conference schedule along with a clickable hyperlink to the Zoom to the parent’s email. This will need to be done for each of the parent’s children.
Please be mindful that viewing the schedule is only available to the parent that scheduled the conference. The other parent will not be able to see the conference details
Gifts of Gratitude
The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) is offering the opportunity to honor a special IPSD 204 teacher or staff member through their ‘Gifts of Gratitude’ program. Share your appreciation by making a tax-deductible donation to IPEF on behalf of your honoree through December 10th. Your honoree receives a personalized certificate prior to the holiday break to commemorate your gratitude and their name is displayed on the IPEF website’s ‘Wall of Gratitude’ that recognizes outstanding educators.
Your tax-deductible Gifts of Gratitude donation supports IPEF’s Teacher Innovation Grants program. Gifts of any size are meaningful, welcome and discreet – donation amounts are not disclosed to the honoree. https://ipef204.org/recognize-great-teachers/PTA Updates
GiftMart
This year we will be once again collecting toys for under-resourced families in Indian Prairie School District 204!
By invitation, parents and/or guardians are invited to the Giftmart Toyshop where they can purchase new toys for $2.00 per toy. 100% of the proceeds made from the sale of each toy will be donated back to each invited school to fund much needed resources.
Please consider donating a new, unwrapped toy that is safe for children ages 6-12. No stuffed animals or board games, please. There will be a Giftmart Toy Box located inside of Metea and Waubonsie Valley High Schools, Granger, Crone, Gregory and Fischer Middle Schools, and in Cowlishaw, Fry, Graham, Georgetown, Gombert, Kendall, May Watts, McCarty, Owen, Patterson, Petterson, Welch, and Young Elementary Schools from November 6th – December 6th.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A FUN WAY TO HONOR YOUR CHILD’S BIRTHDAY?
Cowlishaw’s LMC has the answer! Donating a book to Cowlishaw’s LMC helps to build our library collection and make your child feel special at the same time.
At some time during the month of your child’s birthday, we will invite your child to come down to the LMC and choose a book from the birthday cart. If your child’s birthday is in June, July or August, we will invite him or her to come down to the LMC during the month of his or her half birthday. There will be a flat $10.00 price for each book.
When your child chooses a book, we take his/her picture to put in the front of the book with a bookplate commemorating the donation. Your child’s name will go up on the Birthday Book Club bulletin board in the LMC, and your child will be the first to check out the book he/she chose! What an opportunity!
The registration for Cowlishaw’s Birthday Book club can be found in the PushCoin Webstore.
Please see the document below if you need help with accessing the Webstore:
