American Teens Lie, Cheat, & Steal
Chuck Colson, BreakPoint
Two important quotes from chuck's article are "Thirty percent of high school students surveyed admitted to stealing from a store within the past year." and another quote is "According to the institute, the results paint a troubling picture of our future politicians and parents, cops and corporate executives, and journalists and generals."
Surveyed-to take a general or comprehensive view of or appraise.
Confessed-to acknowledge someone you have committed a crime or fault.
Impersonal-to lack human emotions or personality.
Satisfied-convinced in or out of an argument.
Troubling-a disturbing action that can cause people to become worried.
Main Idea And Authors Purpose
I think the author was trying to get out what kind of leaders this country will have in the future. By this I mean he was saying that if teens act the same way they are acting now in the future this country will fall. What he means by the title (American Teens Lie, Cheat, And Steal And Think They're Okay) is that the teens are showing all other country's how naive the US can be.
