Help Shape the Future of Our Schools!
In the first quarter of 2018, the Waukesha School District held community focus groups and visited school and community organizations to share the long-range master plan for improvements to our Waukesha schools, with a big emphasis on the middle schools. A great deal of planning and research has been conducted to evaluate the needs of existing buildings in the district, costs to update, and how Waukesha School District’s spending and debt compare to other districts. If you were unable to attend any of the informational sessions, all presentations and recordings can be found on the District website > Scroll down to “News” > Facilities Planning , or https://sdw.waukesha.k12.wi.us/facilities. All households in the district have the opportunity to share input on the proposal via survey. Paper copies have been mailed to all households, and email surveys have also been sent out. The email survey comes from “School Perceptions” with the subject line “Waukesha School District 2018 Community Survey”.
Survey responses are due May 9. If you did not receive the survey, please contact the Waukesha School District Business Office at 262-970-1003.

3rd Grade Hebron House Fundraiser
The 3rd grade is having a cleaning supplies drive for the Hebron House.
We were inspired by our reading unit about helping others. We are collecting things like bleach, toilet bowl cleaner, disinfecting wipes, garbage bags (13 gallons), Febreze and Pine-Sol. Bring the donations to your teacher from now until May 14th, 2018. Thanks for reading and we hope you donate!
Second Annual Husky Hustle
It is time for our second annual Husky Hustle on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 2:00-3:00 P.M. During this event students, staff, and parents are invited to participate in a ½ mile run/walk around our Hillcrest playground. There will be a course set-up with cones and painted lines. The fifth graders will participate first while the rest of us cheer them on as they celebrate their last year at our wonderful school. Next the fifth grade will take the kindergarten around the course with them. Then the fourth grade will take the second grade around, and finally the third grade will go around with the first grade. Everyone is welcome to participate with their children during their classroom’s turn. There will be water available from our PTO after the children finish the course.
After the run/walk, we all will proceed to the gym and engage in the Husky Hustle dance.
When the dance concludes, freeze pops will be served, compliments of our wonderful PTO.
Also, the week of May 14-22, there will be one of my boots in the office, “Kuhtz boot” to be used to collect any donations from families to be used for playground equipment for all the students at Hillcrest. Students can bring donations to their homerooms, and they will then be sent to the boot in the office.
