Foundation for Fort Mill Schools
The Foundation for Fort Mill Schools is an essential resource connecting students, teachers and the community in the Fort Mill School District. The Foundation promotes academic excellence through direct financial support of projects, activities, educational assistance and professional development. To date, over $50,000 in Innovative Classroom Projects, Professional Development, and Technology opportunities have been funded and over $70,000 has been awarded in college scholarships. Through Charitable Events (TEC Dowling Memorial Golf Tournament and the Chili Cookoff), and Community Partnerships, the Foundation funds Grants, Scholarships, and the Classroom Ready initiative which provides students and teachers with much-needed supplies. In short, this is an organization that has a direct, positive impact on our Fort Mill School District Students, Parents, and Staff.
This is why I ask each of you to do the following, so we can increase awareness and support for the Foundation:
1.) "Like" the Foundation's Facebook Page (Foundation for Fort Mill Schools)
2.) Follow the Foundation on Twitter
3.) Share this message with your Staff and Parents and encourage them to do the same via their weekly communications.

Scholastic has unveiled a new website focused on the joy of reading. It includes a number of materials, including videos and a free downloadable book with contributions from educators about their own reading experiences. GHES Talent Showcase
Stars of Gold Hill Elementary Talent Showcase will be held on Saturday, April 28th during Spring Carnival. Sign ups to be in the show are now FULL.
We are still seeking a couple of students to help behind the scenes with our Stage Crew for the Talent Show. We are also seeking submissions for our Art Showcase which will be displayed during the Carnival. You can get more information and sign up to participate for Stage Crew or the Art Showcase on My School Anywhere.
Morning Arrival
Please make sure you are dropping students off in front of the elementary school in the car loop, or in front of the middle school in their car loop (which is a good option if the line is long on the elementary side). Students may not be dropped off in the back of the school, which is reserved for buses during morning arrival!
Please also make sure that students exit on the right side of the vehicle, because of the possibility of oncoming traffic driving up the left lane of the car loop. Let's work together to keep students, parents, and vehicles safe! Thanks!
