Destiny Info...

Hospitality Fund

If you would like to participate in our Hospitality Fund, please bring dues to the September meeting. Dues are $20 and will be used for cards and plants for births, marriages, retirements and other life events for department members. We had quite a few events last year and we have run through our remaining Hospitality funds.

LIS Goals

If you haven't already, begin thinking about your formal Goals for the year. Very soon all campus teaching staff members will be asked to input those goals into Strive.

Information about the LIS Evaluation, Strive and SMART Goals can be found in LIS Schoology>Resources>Personnel Information.

Donor's Choose / Chevron Fuel Your School

A terrific source of funds for many library projects is Donor's Choose.

Even better, projects $1,000 or less posted during the month of October from schools in the 77411 and 77072 zip code areas, are eligible to be funded by Chevron through the Chevron Fuel Your School Program.

Don't miss out on this opportunity! Also, if your project includes technology, make sure to get approval for the project from the Alief ISD Technology Department prior to submitting with Donor's Choose.

Fall LIS Professional Development

A ninth Fall LIS Professional Development Session has been added - It is the Destiny - I Need Help with That. This session will be offered 11/9. This session and the other fall LIS Professional Development Sessions are all linked in Eduphoria.

All sessions count for Alief ISD Professional Development credit for the 2019-2020 PD year.

Please send me an e-mail with your dates/times for any and all library events so they can be added to the Library Department Calendar. These events include, but are not limited to: extended hours, book fairs, author visits.
