First nine weeks report cards!

Dear Wanke Parents,

Thank you for your patience and continued support as we worked through the first grading period. There were some challenges with technology, Schoology, and Zoom. However, together we worked through them. We appreciate you for helping your children and ensuring their engagement and learning, whether in school or at home. Now more than ever, it is imperative that parents monitor their children's engagement in class, work completion, and grades.

These steps can help you monitor progress:

  • Log into your parent account on HAC or Schoology weekly. You will be able to view assignments/grades that have been posted.
  • Have your child take you through the steps to see their assignments. By having your child access their account with you, you can have conversations about their progress and see the missing assignments.

On Friday, October 23rd, report cards will be available in HAC for parents to view. If your child has earned a grade lower than expected, please reach out to his/her teacher. This may be due to a lack of work completion or disengagement in the course. Students who have earned a failing grade may work with their teacher to improve this grade by completing assignments to demonstrate grade-level TEKS.

We have started the second grading period strong! The expectation is that all of our students are engaged and complete work, regardless of where they are learning from. Please continue to reach out to your child’s teacher or administration for support. We are all here to work together, and we can do this!

Thank you for your continued support,

Ms. Sanchez

A message from your school nurse :-)!

Hello Wanke Families!

This is Jodi Meyer, RN- Wanke's school nurse. I wanted to update you on our current procedures we are following here in the clinic at school. If any students are to visit the clinic at school and complain of ANY symptoms of COVID-19 they will be put in the isolation room and sent home immediately. Here is a list of COVID-19 symptoms:

· Cough

· Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

· Fatigue

· Muscle or body aches

· Headache

Once the student is sent home, they are required to stay home for ten days unless they are seen and cleared by a Dr. and provide a Dr's note to the school. If your student wakes up in the morning and is not feeling well, please keep them at home. We are doing our best to keep all our students and staff safe and well. Thank you for your help with this!
