From Mrs. McBride
As students problem solve and apply coping skills to their social challenges, they build self confidence and resilience. There are times when parents provide excellent guidance in helping their child overcome teasing. Here are a few tips for parents responding to childhood teasing:
Be a careful observer
Ignore simple,playful teasing
Disallow any form of teasing that is hurtful or malicious
Examine the motives behind teasing
Reinforce empathetic behaviors when you see them.
Evaluate teasing within the family- make sure it is within appropriate boundaries
Help your child understand the cause and effect of teasing others
Caution your child to respond to teasing and not to react.Reacting causes them to be a target for more teasing.

If you plan to buy your lunch at the cafeteria, please let me or Mrs. Anderson know no later than Friday, February 16th so she can be prepared to have enough food.
Also please follow Lakeside Dad's Club on Twitter - https://twitter.com/LakesideDads. I post pics from the Longhorn Lunch there as well as other Dad's Club events as well as updates related to Dad's Club and/or Lakeside Dads in general.
