Swimming Carnivals
On Monday, 27 February, all of our Year 4-10 learners will participate in our Yr 4-10 Swimming Carnival at Red Cliffs Pool. All learners are transported to and from the pool on buses. Please ensure students wear sports uniform, bring swimming gear and sunscreen, water and hats. A BBQ is provided, however we would encourage learners to also bring some additional food and snacks on the day.
On Friday, 3 March, its our Prep - Year 3 learners turn! All students will be transported to and from the Merbein pool on bus from the college grounds. Learners will be provided with an icy-pole to enjoy on the day and celebrate their awesome swimming!
Parents as spectators are welcome on both days! Please meet us at the pools. If you take your child/ren home with you please ensure you sign them out at the respective pool gate.
We look forward to a fun and exciting time at both carnivals.
Primary News
What a first four weeks we have had at Trinity! With so many engaging activities being offered and created across the Primary School, it is great to see how well all learners have settled into the academic year for 2023.
Year 2 Swimming Lessons at Waves Mildura
A massive thank you to our Year 2 team of Mrs Buffon, Mr Milne, Mrs Lyons, Ms Stewart, Mrs Brown, Ms Baker, Mrs Hugo and Mrs White for their services this week in delivering the Yr. 2 swimming program. Every learner I have spoken to about their swimming lesson, has thoroughly enjoyed their time, whilst learning new skills in the water. Swimming is such an important program within our College in developing our learners confidence in the water. We now look forward to next Friday 3rd March and our P-3 Swimming Carnival, where all our learners can demonstrate the skills, they have learnt. Great job!
Shrove Tuesday
Pancakes, Pancakes, Pancakes!! For my first time, it was so great to see our primary learners alongside their parents, enjoy a pancake to celebrate Shrove Tuesday at Trinity. From Preps – Year 5/6, learners came together to enjoy a pancake of significance – the day before Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent). A special thanks to all parents, caregivers and friends who joined us on Tuesday. To have our community able to congregate together again is truly what makes Trinity a special place.
2023 Sunraysia Tennis Championships at Red Cliffs Lawn Tennis Centre
On Wednesday our Primary Tennis team travelled to Red Cliffs to compete in the 2023 Sunraysia Tennis Championships. On what was a hot day, all members of the team played extremely well and held their composure as the day unfolded and temperatures rose.
The girls put up a tremendous effort in their division with Amelie McKendrick, Raquel Nakhla and Sofia Falivene all playing some great tennis proudly wearing our Trinity colours. They’re show of sportsmanship was simply outstanding.
A special mention to our Trinity Primary Captain Pranav Chowdhry for making the semi-finals in the boy’s division, only losing one match for the entire day. A big congratulations though, must go to Brandon Chevlin for being crowned the 2023 Sunraysia Boys Champion without losing a single match. Brandon played solid tennis throughout the day and with his victory will now represent Sunraysia at Swan Hill (Regionals) later this year. Well done to all and on behalf of Trinity, we wish Brandon the best of luck at Regionals.
Uniform Policy
Our college prides itself on offering a smart and sensible uniform. ALL STUDENTS are expected to follow the uniform requirements. This policy was emailed to all families with beginning of year Parent Teacher Interview information last week. It can also be found on the College website.
Formal School Shoes - Please ensure that footwear aligns with the policy (refer to pictures below). Students are not to wear canvas, fabric or skate style school shoes. Formal school shoes must be leather and have a block heel, as per the policy.
Sports Shoes - Sports shoes must be a supportive athletic jogger and not a street style skate shoe, converse loafer or boot.
Parents will be contacted if incorrect footwear is worn to school to ensure the problem is rectified.
Please also ensure that students return to school with hair tidy and tied up (if below shoulder length). It is also expected that students have all acrylic / fake nails removed before the school year begins.
Thank you for your support of our college and our uniform.
Motivation is the Key – Year 5/6C
At our first Primary Assembly for 2023, I issued a challenge to all primary learners to never give up and always strive to improve each day. Our Yr. 5/6C class were inspired and together with Mrs Tung, decided to create their own inspiration video to showcase the important of having a “never give up attitude”.
Click on the video below to view 5/6C Motivational Clip
At Trinity we will always look to inspire our learners, but it is also true that our learners inspire us. Well done to Yr. 5/6C in putting together this video to demonstrate the message of never giving up. Great job and I look forward to what our learners next have in plan.
“Every child deserves a CHAMPION; an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possible be…”
With Thanks,
Mr. Fowler
Secondary News
Ash Wednesday
On Wednesday, the Secondary School was led in a service for Ash Wednesday by Pastor Karl. This was a short service but gave the learners an opportunity to understand the start of Lent and the significance of the day. At the end of the service the school was given the opportunity to signify the day with an Ash cross placed on their forehead or hand.
TAFE
The learners who have taken the opportunity to complete a TAFE course began this journey last week. This is an opportunity given to Year 10 students to try an area of interest for the year as a lead into future study and employment in these practical areas.
Pastoral Care Group (PCG)
The start of the school day is 8:45am. Several learners are arriving after this time and missing PCG (Gol Gol bus travellers excluded).
This time is PCG and an important part of the day, as this sets the learners for the day and/or week ahead.
They read the daily notices on the Vine about happenings in the College. This is also when the roll is marked for the day ahead.
Learners who arrive after 8:50am are required to have their attendance marked at the Front Office.
This time is also a great opportunity to talk to peers about what is happening in class, school or life in general.
The PCG teachers are there as a support for learners and their development with school. They are the person you should be contacting in relation to aspects of schooling they can directly assist with to support them at school.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day
We are looking forward to welcoming our special guests for this annual day of fun and celebrations. We are very excited to be able to give all of our guests a sneak peak in our brand new Library on this day.
Welcome to our new Trinity Staff
This edition, we continue to introduce you to our amazing new staff. This week we introduce Miss Vincent.
I have just moved to sunny Mildura from Melbourne. I treasure my childhood as I holidayed along the river and consider myself incredibly blessed that I now live here. I am extremely excited to be part of the Trinity community and thank you all for such a warm welcome!

Prep, Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 Family Picnic Events
Sadly, with heat predictions these last few weeks we have had to postpone our Prep and Year 1/2 Family Picnic's. We will reschedule these closer to Easter with a fun Easter theme.
We cross our fingers and hope that the Year 3/4 Event can go ahead, as planned, on Friday 3 March.
Please see the flyers below for details. We look forward to seeing our Trinity leaners and their families.
