Ms. Davis' Class (K): The first few weeks of Kindergarten have been very exciting! We have jumped right into reviewing our letters and numbers. Every day we practice our sound-letter cards and talk about the two different letters. In math, we are focusing on finding similarities and differences. We are also spending a lot of time counting with our fingers, cubes and other manipulatives.
Ms. Baker's Class (1/2): First and second grade is working on coming together as a community and working together. They are also reviewing skills learned last year, in order to jumpstart this years' learning! First and second graders are also working on learning good handwriting skills in the classroom.

School Pride
Posters and bulletin boards in the gym convey our focus and emphasis on character education to those who visit for Little League and community events.
Mrs. Sears is focusing P.E. on developing and fostering teamwork. The concept of working together and relying on one another is an extension of our character education program and an exceptionally important life-skill we want to instill in our young citizens.

At Home
One way students are learning to solve "small" problems is by making a deal. Kids deal with conflict by deciding to find a compromise, or a way that both parties can get what they would like. Kids can do this by flipping a coin, playing rock paper scissors, or any other way that they can make a deal.
What are some ways you can talk to your kids at home about Kelso's Choices?
- Review Kelso’s Choice, Make a Deal. Remind students that by Making a Deal, they will lose a little but gain a lot.
- Ask students to recall the last time they used or the last time they saw someone else use Make a Deal.
- Ask kids what are some ways they have seen Make a deal work or they have tried to Make a Deal.
