We are excited to announce that this Fall, the high school bell schedule will change as described below. We will continue to utilize our Block, Day 1, Day 2 schedule and add a 65 minute Spartan Lunch and Flex Block every day.

The mission of Spartan Flex is to:

  • Provide students with the time, academic support, and resources necessary to be a successful student

  • Assist students that do not have a built-in support class, including students at Eastern, students who need to leave early for sports and/or have late arrival/early dismissal privileges

  • By scheduling the block in the middle of our school day all students will have equal access

  • Consistently schedule activities such as health screenings, music ensembles and student pictures and avoid class interruptions

  • Focus solely on direct student enrichment and remediation

  • Allow some student independence and choice regarding their learning

  • Allow time for student/teacher meetings for independent studies classes

Summer Reading

Students taking any level of high school English are required to complete a summer reading assignment. Summer reading lists will be sent home with student report cards. These lists and additional note taking materials are also posted here. Parents should review book options with their students to help them choose an appropriate book to read before the start of the 2021-2022 school year. All students enrolled in AP Language and Composition should email Mrs. Ward at Kristin_Ward@sdst.org with any questions. All students enrolled in AP Literature and Composition should email Mrs. McCaslin at Jennifer_McCaslin@sdst.org with any questions.

Summer Math

All students are required to complete a summer math packet prior to the start of class in September. These packets will be assessed during the first week of school. The math packets and additional resources can be found on this Summer Math link. Any questions regarding the packets should be directed to Mr. McCaslin at corey_mccaslin@sdst.org. All students enrolled in AP Calculus AB/BC, AP calculus BC, and Multivariable Calculus, should refer to Mr. Malossini's website for any summer practice assignment. Send Mr Malossini an email if you have any questions at max_malossini@sdst.org. There are no packets for AP Statistics and/or Academic Statistics.

Physicals for the 2021-2022 School Year

The Department of Health Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has directed all students entering 11th grade to have a physical examination. Physical examinations done after July 1, 2020 will meet the state health regulations for the 2021-2022 school year. Please send your physical to the High School in an envelope marked "Attention School Nurse" or you can email it to the school nurse at nancy_hopkins@sdst.org. The deadline for the state is different than that of PIAA so if your Junior will be playing a fall sport, that athletic physical must be completed after June 1, 2021. Here is a link to the physical form.

Hall of Fame - Nomination Form

The Hall of Fame nomination form is open and we have begun accepting nominations for next year’s Hall of Fame Ceremony. The Mission of the Hall of Fame is to preserve the history of Springfield Township High School and honor the legacy of our outstanding alumni and staff members.
