Boosterthon Fit Challenge
We have been having so much fun with the Boosterthon team this past week and our Super HeroFit Challenge is coming up on Friday, 9/20! Our students have 2 challenges for the weekend, make sure to ask your students about it! Remember, we are raising $36,000 for new technology and we need your help to reach that goal! Logon to funrun.com over the weekend and get those pledges in to help our school.
As you can see from the graphics below, we almost have participation from every state in the U.S. Additionally, the dials share some great stats on how we are doing so far. Thank you for all of your participation to help us reach our goals!
There are lots of fun dress up and silly days for reaching participation goals. Please remember sneakers must be worn every day. (Including no cowboy boots. They are a safety concern.) Our dress up days will usually be on a Friday, unless they can be incorporated into our uniform dress code.
To find out more, including spectator information, please see our flyer in Friday Flyers.
Student Fall Picture Orders Have Arrived
This week your child will bring home their Fall Picture order. If you ordered pictures and your child does not have the packet, chances are they are on the retake list. Mrs. Gamboa will send a separate email to those families. There are only about 7 students.
Our retake day is the morning of Tuesday, September 24th. (NOTE: This is a correction from an email that was sent in error last week.) Also, retakes are available, for students who were absent or if you were unhappy with the photos received. Please return the unwanted packet on Retake Day with any special instructions.
If you have any questions regarding your pictures, contact the photographer directly at 239-273-4977 or joe@joecapasso.com
Early Release Day: Wednesday, 9/25 Students will be dismissed at 12:30. Bus students will arrive 3 hours earlier than their normal time.

Building a Positive Digital Footprint & Social Media Responsibilities
We have completed our presentations to the fourth and fifth grade classrooms. Please talk to your child about the information which was presented to them. Also, please take the time to review some of the videos provided in the Google Classroom created to support this initiative. Remind your student, that students who submit the most authentic and outstanding assignment submissions will work on a small Student Leaders committee, for the purpose of creating a "Junior" version of using electronic devices responsibly, for third grade students.
For more resources, check out Common Sense Media, which is an independent, research backed non-profit organization whose mission is to help families and educators provide a safe digital environment.

Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders
Please do not honk at car line- this encourages students to run out before all traffic has stopped
Remind your students to stay behind the yellow lines for arrival and pick up. This ensures that they are a safe distance from the vehicles.
Day Care Vans- If your child takes a daycare van in the afternoon, parents need to communicate absences or changes in dismissal with the daycare as well as the school.
Reminder: Volunteers and lunch visits will start at the end of September.
