LANGUAGE ARTS
The curriculum obligations have been fulfilled. I just want to tell you how much I love the book that you all helped to create of your children and their memories of me. It is something that I will cherish. Also, I'm sending a big thank you for the gift that Mr. Foster collected. I will put it to good use!
This has been a really good year and I'm happy that I'm leaving on such a good note. You, parents, have been very supportive of me and your children throughout the year and I would like to thank you all for that. It's great to work together with families of such wonderful students.
SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES
The geography unit with the book Me On The Map was completed yesterday. I hope you had a chance to look at the book. It's much more than coloring. As each area was introduced students learned about the properties of that area. We looked at maps to locate places like India, China, and of course the U.S. It was fun. I hope your children told you something about it.
MATH
Please practice math, reading and writing a little over the summer just to keep it fresh in your child's mind.
REMINDERS
- The last day of school! The year has just flown by.
- Teachers and other staff members have to be out of the building by 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon and will not be allowed back in until late August. If your child has forgotten something make sure to come back to retrieve it today or tomorrow.
Other News
- Today the students met with their new first grade teachers. It went very well but I reminded them as I'll remind you that things change over the summer so don't be surprised if you see something different in September. Anything is possible.
Have a wonderful and safe summer!!
