Progress Reports & Characteristics of a Successful Learner
Dear Husmann Parents & Guardians,
Our teachers are looking forward to meeting with you in a few weeks at Parent-Teacher conferences. The purpose of conferences is to provide an opportunity for our teachers to share with you all of the wonderful things your child has done so far this school year, in terms of their academic progress, social-emotional growth and how they have demonstrated being safe, responsible and kind (our three guiding PBIS expectations).
Progress Reports will be available via ParentVue on Friday, 11/18. Within the report, you will find information from each of the academic subject areas as well as information in the Characteristics of a Successful Learner. When viewing that area, please keep in mind that our schoolwide focus starting in August was to teach, re-teach and emphasize the attributes in each of those areas.
As our teams are continually reviewing our school-wide data, we have seen increases in various behaviors so far this year. Partnering with your child's teacher, and other staff at school, is the key to help the growth in each of those areas. Just like with academics, those learner characteristics are a huge part of each school day.
Have a great next two weeks, and again, we are looking forward to connecting with you on Monday or Tuesday during Parent-Teacher conferences!
Your Partners in Education,
Mr. Sromek & Ms. Fitzgerald
Cold Weather Guidelines
Due to the many changes in weather this time of year we recommend students are prepared for whatever the day may bring. Please make sure your child is prepared with a warm jacket, hat, gloves, etc. If your child wishes to play in the snow at recess they must wear snow pants and boots or they will be asked to stay on the blacktop. Due to rain or snow it may also be a good idea to keep an extra pair of pants and socks in your child's locker. Please label your child's items. The guidelines established by district 47 during cold weather are as follows:
- 15 degrees or warmer- Unlimited time spent outside
- Zero to 15 degrees above zero- 20 minutes of time spent outside
- Below zero- Students remain indoors
