A Note From The Principal

Greetings Parents,

Every decision we make as a campus is with you and our scholars in mind. We are still going to start school on August 11th. However, every PLA scholar will start the 2020-21 school year off virtually. Our plan is to return to the in person platform of instruction on Tuesday, September 8th. Please continue to read our newsletter for updates as they relate to device pick up and the trainings we will provide to ensure our scholars are successful. As always we will keep you up to date on any changes as we carefully monitor the impact of the pandemic. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kindest Regards,

Dr. Sue Starr

Virtual Start of the Year

Due to the current COVID-19 numbers, PLA has made the decision to have all Indianapolis campuses start their years virtually on August 11, 2020. Teachers will be providing live, virtual lessons throughout the day via Blackboard Collaborate.

The regional Phalen leadership team will reassess the situation at the end of August and make a further determination at that time. There is a possibility we return to in person learning after Labor Day and we will provide further guidance when we have it. All of this is being done to ensure the safety of our scholars and staff.

Additional information regarding our virtual start of the year and help center hub will be made available with next week's newsletter and on our Facebook and Twitter feeds. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding regarding these uncertain times.

Device Pick Up *RESCHEDULED*

Due to delays in receiving devices, we are postponing our device distribution. We will now have device distribution on August 10, 11, and 12. Additional information will be made available in next week's newsletter.
