Cyberbullying & Digital Citizenship Assembly

On Monday, Mr. David Shallcross from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office visited Tamanend to talk to all of our students and staff about the perils of cyberbullying and the importance of developing digital citizenship. Following the assemblies, our students and staff met in Tiger's Eye to discuss what they learned, why it was important, and what they would do with the information to keep themselves and others safe.

A Few Friendly Reminders

This coming Monday, we will go over the following reminders on our Tamanend Today Show. Please reiterate these things with your student(s):

Water Only & in NON Glass Bottles: A few weeks ago, we discussed that students are only permitted to have water to drink during the school day (except for lunchtime). We also want to emphasize that students should only bring water (or other lunchtime beverages) in NON glass bottles. That way if the bottles fall, we do not have glass shattered in our classrooms, halls or cafeteria. Thank you for your respectful understanding.

Going Home Sick: When students do not feel well during the school day, they need to go to the nurse. The nurse will contact parents/guardians when a student needs to go home for the day due to illness. Students may not text their parents to come get them and then leave through the Main Office when they do not feel well. When this happens, we send students to the Nurse's Office first before being dismissed.

Decorating Lockers for Birthdays: It is a Tamanend tradition that students decorate their friends' lockers for their birthdays. This may only be done between the regular school hours when students are permitted in the hallways: 7:20 a.m. until 3 p.m. Students should come prepared with all decorations measured, cut and ready to go on the locker. Students should not open their friends lockers to wrap the door (that causes jams) or put anything inside the friend's locker. Locker combinations are to be kept private and secure.
